What are my chances of getting into medical school, and what schools(MD or DO) would be best suited for me?

I am a junior majoring in nuclear engineering. This engineering program is one of the top programs in the nation. I have a 3.3 gpa and some extracurricular and am getting an average score on MCAT around 29. Do medical schools take into consideration the difficulty of your major, and how necessary is it to do volunteer work? What are my chances of getting into medical school, and what schools(MD or DO) would be best chance ( I live in Texas)? And also is attending med school in the Caribbeans a viable option?
