Where can I find a winter internship or research? (I only have a physics undergrad background)?

I am looking for an internship or research during the coming winter semester to keep myself occupied. I want to be more familiarized with the actual job market, and I need something to show on my resume. Id like something to do with Physics or mechanical engineering, or something close to these fields. I don't know any programming languages. My gpa is not so great. About 3.2, but It has been increasing lately. I live in NYC so id like to find the internship around here, or if possible go somewhere out of state, but due to financial circumstances I'd have to have my room and board and travel expenses paid for. If anyone knows where i can find something matching this description, it would be a great help. Thanks. And yes ive checked everywhere online, and at my school already. I go to CCNY btw.
