Why do so many atheists say they've been abducted by aliens?

I was reading a UFO abduction forum earlier and what struck me is that 99% of the abductees were atheists. Why do so many atheists say they've been abducted by aliens? Or are aliens only interested in atheists? It makes me think atheists are replacing God with something else (in this case aliens).
